Personality: First impressions of Gaige will likely lead one to think that she's your average punky teenager, high-energy and rebellious. While it's in part true, she's far beyond one-dimensional.
Gaige is incredibly intelligent and has a passion for all things mechanical. Deathtrap (her killer robot) and the prosthetic arm that summons him are both entirely of her own creation, all the way from design to completion. Feeling unappreciated or unrecognized are huge sore spots for her and she's prone to extravagant efforts to prove herself -- you know, like creating a giant robot for a school science fair and then lopping off her entire arm to mount the digistructing rod for it. Needless to say, impulsive behavior is not foreign to her. For the most part, she's able to keep her cool in stressful situations and make decisions in situations where others would balk due to panic and pressure; it takes skill and a clear head to amputate your own limb and then construct a replacement on the fly, all on a whim.
Because of her fast-paced thought process, she's hard to keep occupied; she's a little high-strung, impatient, and easily bored. It doesn't take too much to push her towards manic behavior to fill percieved voids. Her behavior in these states can border on alarmingly violent, making her dangerous even without malicious intent.
All in all, at the young age of 18, she's managed to assist in taking down Hyperion's corrupt CEO, Handsome Jack, and in turn land herself a $820,000,000,000 bounty on her head (the highest of any Vault Hunter shown). She's a valuable ally and a formidable foe.
☆INTERSTELLAR
Choice Instrument: Mixboard, bass, drums, and lead (vocal) is an okay option, just not one I need to be top priority or anything!
Rockstar Persona: There isn't too much of a drastic shift between Gaige's real self and her brainwashed persona. She will still be just as energetic and determined, with her passion of focus having shifted from mechanics to music -- and with an even shorter fuse when it comes to her complex with patience, boredom, and dangerous stunts. She'll concern herself strongly with her band's public image and online presence to the point of obsession, blogging/vlogging daily if not more.
From what she remembers, she got her start in music fairly early. She'd convinced her father to buy her an electronic mixboard to play with, and soon she was mixing her own music, adding her own accompanying vocals, and uploading it online, released under the alias DJ Deathtrap, gaining a relatively steady fanbase -- supported by the fact that she related and communicated with them well, much more than artists usually tend to.
After a few short years of cultivating her career independently, she was contacted by a scouting agent and signed onto a label She attributes the need for her mechanical arm to a stage accident. Her level of dedication to her career is impressive and genuine, as is her enthusiasm, but she has occasional difficulties with personality clashes and feeling like she doesn't get enough of the spotlight. It's less from the "diva" angle, more from the "I do so much for this band" one.
Ideal CR: I'd personally like to see Gaige in a band where she has a familial or mentor-like relationship with at least one other member, because she's still quite young and having some sort of balance or anchor would be good for her. Then, on the other hand, people close to her in age. Otherwise, I'm really not picky, and I try not to set expectations for CR; I prefer to let it develop naturally.
